At first glance these two people would appear to never be able to have feelings for each other and you would automatically rule them out because the age difference (just 610 years, haha). But as you start reading, many feelings are revealed.

We find Rain and Machika being very protectful of each other. Machika doesn’t want to lose Rain even though he’s immortal, and Rain can’t stand seeing another woman die.

We also see them comforting each other, in odd ways, when the other is depressed, troubled, or just not feeling well.

Then, bit by bit, we discover their past and realize how much in common they have. Both are alone and appear cold-hearted, but when they start to understand each other better it brings them closer and they open up.

Their relationship is a complicated one. They won’t ever reveal their feelings for one another and secretly wonder what makes him/her tick. I wouldn’t describe their relationship as the typical anime/manga girl/boy relationship though it does appear to be that way at first. It is a tweaked version.

Rain and Machika are definitely a good couple because they help one another on the emotional level. Together they overcome past events, become more open, and even learn how to smile.
