Immortal Rain is a manga (not an anime yet) with a mix of shoujo and shounen elements. It centers around the characters Rain Jewlitt - current Methuselah (he's 624 when you first meet him), comic relief, and the guy who makes you cry every other chapter - and Machika Balfaltin, the cold yet emotional grandaughter of the 'Grim Reaper' Zol and 14 year old assassin.

Contradictions you say? Yep. In the six breath-taking volumes it spans, Immortal Rain unfolds a story of angst, laughter, tears, and happiness. It pulls at your heartstrings with a cast of characters light-hearted yet heavy-burdened enough to make you believe and throws them into a futuristic world that often seems backwards. Of believing in something very few believe in: people. A world of Angels and Immortality...you have to read it to understand it; so I'll leave it off at my badly-not-to-the-point summary. If you can even call it that.
